Application

Allow a minimum of 14 days from date of laying/grouting before application of TUSCAN SEAL to ensure all moisture has left grout and substrate. Ensure all efflorescence (whitish salts on surface) has ceased to appear (residual salts may be removed using an almost dry sponge). The surface to be treated should be cleaned free from dust and thoroughly dry.

Apply TUSCAN SEAL using a soft bristle natural or nylon broom, lambswool applicator or paint brush taking particular care to avoid streaking. Each coat must be ..flood . to ensure full saturation of all pores in the tile surface. Generally a minimum of two even coats should be applied at a direction of 900 to each other working grout line to grout line, sealing grout lines as well. Broad application guidelines are as follows but our advice is to determine (on a sample) the number of coats required to provide complete protection against staining from vegetable & cooking oils, margarine, other stains etc.

Coverage

Ultimate coverage is entirely dependent on the quality and porosity of the substrate being sealed. Coverage will vary from .. 30 m2 per litre. Testing should be conducted to determine the correct quantity of sealer needed to meet expectations or stain resistance.

The following is a guide to coverage: Porous Surfaces: e.g. MEXICAN TERRACOTTA Apply .. 6 coats with a minimum of 2 hours between coats. Coverage will be .. 15 m2 per litre per coat Semi Porous Surfaces: e.g. AUSTRALIAN PAVERS Apply 2-4 coats with a minimum of 2 hours between coats Coverage will be .. 15 m2 per litre per c Dense and Polished Surfaces: Apply .. 3 coats with a minimum of 1 hour between coats. After the final coat has fully dried lightly buff the surface to a shine using a lint free cloth or lambswool applicator which has been moistened with Tuscan Seal. Coverage will be .. 30 m2 per litre per coat

To assist in removal of grout after grouting, the tiles may be presealed prior to laying, using TUSCAN SEAL or Klen's water based CLEAR SEAL. TUSCAN SEAL may also be applied through non aluminium solvent resistant sprayers. Always provide adequate ventilation to the work area. Avoid heavy traffic for 24 hours after final coat. Areas sealed previously with TUSCAN SEAL may be resealed without stripping. Simply re-apply to a clean, dry floor. Life expectancy of this sealer is 3 years dependent on traffic. Heavy traffic areas should be resealed as necessary

SPECIAL NOTE. This product CAN NOT delaminate as it is a penetrating product. Haziness or powdering on the surface after the use of this product will be the emergence of efflorescence.
